When I kiss someone, I remember how their last relationship ended. What I saw this time was more than I expected.
Naveer Singh was the first person involved. We were in the eighth grade. That day, I wore a white sundress and put my hair up in a ponytail. Naveer kissed me on the field, but only for a second. His lips just barely touched mine before he ran off with his friends, making fun of him as they laughed. That was my very first kiss... And the first time I understood I was different.
When his lips touched mine, it was like they were telling me a story in silence. That's the only way I can think of to explain it. A message of caution hidden in the form of love. Even though it was only a flash, I could see why his relationship with Bella Kennedy stopped. In the library, she heard him talking about her.
"Did you kiss her yet?" John asked as he leaned against the books for teens and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Yeah, and I wish I hadn't," Naveer said, making a barfing motion with his finger down his throat. "She smelled like tuna salad for lunch, but I don't know what she ate."
Bella heard him on the other side of the bookshelves, and her hand froze in the air. She lost her book, which was "A Series of Unfortunate Events" by Scott Lee.
