The reason I stopped Hacking. [Part 2]
I stood there frozen in shock. My body shook with fear, and thoughts rushed through my mind. Where did my mother go? Is she all right? Why does this son of a bitch have her phone out? I needed to calm down because something didn't look right. I called the number and checked the caller ID. It said "mom" and had no number. I'm so stupid, he was just hiding his caller ID to throw me off. So be it. I'll join in. I must be missing something.
"Wh..." Could you please give my mom's phone back? Where is she? "Is she all right?"
From the other end, there was a deep, gross laugh. I chose to record the call so that I might be able to play with it and find the real voice of the caller. This jerk probably knows who my parents are and where I live, even though it's not much. He starts to talk.
"Bryce, Bryce, Bryce. Your mom's safety depends on how our little game turns out. When I said "one's life is on the line," I should have added that it shouldn't have to be the player's life. Are you ready to play?"
I thought, "How can Cole see me at this point?" There are no cameras tied to my WiFi. The camera on my desktop is turned off, and I took the camera out of my laptop as soon as I got it. He might have also broken into my flat and set up cams while I was away. But why would he do something that could get him caught? I could have cameras at home and catch him in the act. He must be using one of my things, though.
