Something I need to say before I leave the country
I don't know what else to do; I could get in trouble for sharing this. If this does come back to me, not having a job will not be the worst thing that could happen.
I help kids as a therapist.
I believe I destroyed my last case.
Of course I would get fucked doing good things for other people. My friend John is the director of a nearby elementary school. Last week, he called me and begged me to see this kid.
Lisa is her name. He told her, "She got here a few weeks ago."
"And an annoyance?" I wanted to know.
"No, not at all." John waited. "She behaves herself very well."
"What's the matter?"
"Alia thinks she's...using the other kids against them." John waited some more.
"Like, stealing their lunch money?" Making them fight with each other?"
"No, no, not whatsoever. It's been two weeks since Lisa brought a bottle to class. The bottle says "Invisibility Potion." Her whole morning is spent talking about how she hides and sneaks around. The other kids are really interested. Another kid comes in crying from playtime. She was supposed to be invisible, but this kid poured the "Invisibility Potion" all over her head. "Elmer's glue and glitter."
I put my arm around the receiver and laughed. I told her, "I thought you said she was good."
