She didn't want me to go into the bedroom.
I haven't been able to sleep lately.
I stay up late sometimes. I really love my wife. Thank you so much. I do stay up late sometimes, though. I stay up while my wife goes to bed. Reading on Medium, playing online games, or watching TV...
Like most of the time, I fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up, my wife was standing over me crying and shaking me awake. She didn't answer for a while after I asked her what was wrong. She just sobbed and hugged me. I pet her hair and tried to make her feel better.
I thought that she might have dreamed that I had died or that she had gotten a text message with sad news. She finally said, "Let's just sit here for a while" after she cooled down a bit.
"Do you want to tell me what happened?" I inquired. She looked like she was thinking about it and then deciding not to do it. "No. I'd like to spend a short amount of time with you.
"I'm tired." I said while stretching. "Let's get in bed." She almost seemed to yell, "No!" "No. "Right now I don't want to go into the bedroom." Although I was worried, my wife was known to be a little strange and even silly at times. She might have had a bad dream that going back in there would bring up.
We finally sat down on the couch and talked. About everything (except what made her mad). Portal was our game.
We ate some leftovers while she made coffee. We laughed together and talked about the early days of our relationship. It was 7:00am before we knew it. "Sweetheart, I'm too tired, and I'm sure you are too." We should rest so we don't waste the whole Saturday.
"No! We are unable to! Thank you!" She sobbed. "Why!?" "What's wrong?" I asked.
"We can't go in there." Thank you. It will be over if we go in." She said with tears in her eyes.
"What!? "What's in the room?" I didn't understand. Had she broken a family treasure by accident and was afraid I'd be mad at her?
As she fought back tears, there was a long pause. Finally, then..
"That's where my body is!" Ram, I'm dead. I saw my dead body on the bed. It will be over once you see it.
That was too much. It was clear she had a nightmare that she thought was real.
"No, honey, not at all. It was just a bad dream, though. "Everything is fine." I gave her a hug while she cried. "Look, you're just not getting enough sleep. When you wake up, you'll feel better. I swear."
She gave me a sad nod and then walked quietly with me to the bedroom. I pointed to the bed, which was completely empty.
"See that? It was just a dream. "Lay down with me here." I jumped on the bed for fun and then put my arm up to talk until we fell asleep. She closed her eyes and laid down next to me.
"So, what had you dreamt?" I inquired. She did not answer. I asked her, "Priya?" "Did you really fall asleep that quickly?" It made me laugh.
She was stiff when I shook her. I saw that the edges of her lips were a little blue. Then I saw that she wasn't breathing.
Of course I got scared.
Yes, I did call 911.
She was just 27 years old. She had an aneurysm while she was sleeping. I "found her body" after she had been dead for five or six hours, according to the doctor.
I really miss her. Everywhere she is or woke up, I hope my promise is kept. I hope she feels better.
