My wife was hospitalised 25 years old and I haven't seen her since.
In 1999, my pregnant wife was taken to Lulaby Hospital for a normal induction. I haven't seen them since.
What took place was this:
When we got there, Dr. Martin checked my wife out and put her in a room in the birthing ward.
She had no trouble with her labour for a while.
After that, it stopped.

Her contractions were weak, and her cervix wouldn't open past 7 cm.
Dr. Martin told her to take more Pitocin. When I asked what that was, he looked at me and said it was a hormone, an artificial form of Oxytocin, that speeds up contractions to help women give birth faster and safely. It looks like my wife already got it. He wish he could give her more.
She didn't say anything.
But to be fair, she was pretty open to everything after they gave her the epidural. She had been yelling before that.
When I told Dr. Martin I wanted everything to go easily, he left after typing something into the computer in the room that was keeping an eye on my wife's vital signs and playing the soothing swoosh-swoosh sound of my baby's heartbeat.
