At 11:30 a.m. on May 17, 2002, my mother died while giving birth to my twin brother and me. Sure, it was sad, but that's just how things work, right? It's not totally normal, but it does happen sometimes.After exactly one year, my aunt died of a heart attack. I had just turned two and was being raised by my dad at the time. We had never really met her. But it really hurt my dad.

My grandfather passed away the following year. Everyone said it was an accident while fishing and that he shouldn't have been out there by himself. The next day, his body washed up on the shore. After a year, my grandma went. She had died of old age.

By that time, my dad had seen a trend, but he didn't tell me about it until I was about 15 years old and could understand.I never really had a birthday party for myself or my brother. That day, my dad tried to act like any other, and we enjoyed our birthdays with him a month early, in March. That way, it would be away from the sadness and the parties and deaths we'd go to every year. When my family got together, it became like Russian Roulette.

My dad tried to get married again when I was five years old. He went out with a woman named Chanel. He told me that she was great and helped him find new meaning in his life. Her daughter, who was supposed to be our sister, was born seven months early with serious birth problems. Yes, it was May 17th, 2014, for your information.
