If you hear someone singing at night, run away quickly.
Never before has a night been as bad for me as last night. I'm really surprised that I'm even here. I would have definitely died horribly if I hadn't gone with my gut. That's why you should hide if you hear someone singing in the middle of the night.
Last night was really fun for me because it was my first two-day weekend in over two months. I thought it would be fun to buy a lot of snacks, make my chair look like a personal haven, and watch a Netflix marathon. At thirty years old, I've given up on the party scene a long time ago. I know it seems dull. On the other hand, I felt like going to sleep after watching my favorite shows and eating candy for about five hours straight. It was about 2:00 a.m., and I hadn't been up that late in months.
I got my room clean, turned off the TV, brush my teeth, and went to bed. After about fifteen minutes, I was in the middle of being awake and sleepy when I felt my eyes getting really heavy. I heard it at that point. A small buzzing sound... I put my ears up and paid close attention. The noise seemed to be coming from the apartment building next door. The walls in our apartment are very thin, so you might hear him now and then, but never at 2 a.m. The bell played "Silent Night."
The whistle went from my neighbors to the hallway between our doors. I felt scared, and I knew I had to hide for some reason. I stood up as quickly and quietly as I could and hurried into my closet, closing it almost all the way. I did this so that no one outside my door could hear the door close.
"Boon?" But there was something wrong with his voice. It was my neighbor.
When I heard what came next, my heart was racing. My dead bolt opened for some reason. From the outside, he wouldn't be able to open it. As the biggest fear I had ever felt took over my body, I started to sweat and found it hard to control my breathing.
"I'm coming... Boon..." His tone would change without warning.
There was a steady creak as my door opened. I heard a light pulling sound and a heavy thud with every step he took. As he got closer, I could hear his rough breathing. He then whistled again, but this time it was louder. He was getting almost in my bedroom, and I was trying not to cry. I shut my eyes and asked God to get rid of it. I was sure that this thing wasn't human or even my neighbor. In every way, it felt weird.
It stopped right outside my bedroom door and didn't make a sound. I could see the front of my bedroom door from where I was standing in the closet. I feel bad that I opened my eyes again, but it had to be done. I saw a misshapen head sticking out of the corner in the upper left corner. This thing was hunched over, and my door frame was at least six and a half feet high. It was very big. I couldn't see anything on its face because my lights were off. Outside lights that shine through the window are the only source of light in my bedroom. To be honest, I'm glad I couldn't see its face because I would have passed out from fear.
"Boon..." was said in a whisper.
I shut my eyes again when I heard it go into my room. It smelled like a dead body now that I could smell it. I had tears running down my face because I was sure I was going to die.
It was trying to find me. I could hear it pulling the covers off my bed and grunting when it couldn't find me. As it sat still and gasped deeply, it must have been thinking about what to do next. After that, it slowly left my room while humming again. As soon as I heard my front door close, I let out a sigh of relief. Little did I know that I had been holding my breath the whole time. I took a short break to listen before leaving the closet. I heard the door across the hall open while I was sitting there.
"What the fu...?" Shelby, my other neighbor, yelled after a long time.
He didn't get to finish talking because his voice was cut off. I then heard two very loud thuds followed by quiet. I woke up about an hour ago after staying in my closet all night. The police were all over our apartment building, so Shelby had to be somewhere there. I haven't been questioned yet, but I will definitely be. I'm not able to tell them the truth. They'll think I'm crazy and might even think I killed Shelby. I'm going to lie to them and say I was asleep to act like I don't know what's going on.
Please tell me what this thing is and what I can do to keep it from happening again. I'm scared that it will come back tonight.
