I wish I hadn’t Gone to the Bathroom…
I haven't left the room in over a week. I was supposed to go back to work the other day, but I haven't been answering my boss's calls. I can see her outside now, watching me. Through the window, I can see her. She's going to leave soon, but she'll be back tomorrow. If not today, then the next day. At the same time. The same spot. Always looking out.
It all began in the bathroom of a McDonald's not far from where I work. Someone called in sick, so I had to stay late for two hours. It had been a long shift. My eyes were heavy with tiredness, and my legs were sore from standing all day.
I used the sink to wash my hands. The mirror showed what a horrible person I am. Eye bags. Scars from acne on my face. I felt gross.
Ask yourself, "Why are you here?"
Someone called out from behind me. As I turned to face her, I quickly dried my hands in the sink.
She then asked, "Excuse me, what are you doing in here?"
A woman in her 40s was standing in front of me. Having blonde hair and sunglasses inside. She looked very angry.
"Just getting my hands clean," I said.
She told him, "You're a man."
"Not... "
