Hide quickly if you hear someone whistling at night
I have never experienced a night as terrible as I did last night. To be honest, I'm shocked that I'm here at all. I would have undoubtedly faced a horrific demise if I hadn't trusted my gut. So if you hear someone whistling in the middle of the night, please heed my advice and hide.
I had a lot of excitement last night because it was my first two-day weekend in more than two months. I had grand ideas to purchase an abundance of munchies, furnish my recliner to resemble a personal haven, and indulge in a Netflix marathon. I realise it seems dull, but I'm thirty years old and have given up on the party scene long ago. Anyway, I thought it was time to get some sleep after watching my favourite shows and shoving candy down my neck for probably five hours straight. I hadn't been up so late in months—it was around 2:00 a.m.
I cleaned up my mess, turned off the television, washed my teeth, and got into bed. I was in the transitional state between being awake and sleepy after about fifteen minutes when I noticed my eyes become really heavy. At that point, I heard it. A slight whistling sound... I pricked up my ears and listened intently. It sounded like it was coming from the apartment block next door. We live in a flat with very thin walls, so occasionally you may hear him, but never at two in the morning. Silent Night was the tune of the whistle.
